Who we are

  At Basic Financial Services, we take a very personal approach to financial planning and we do that with great pride. We work seamlessly as a team, sharing our decades of experience, thousands of hours training and mentoring by the industry’s best in our recommendations. 


In order to build the right financial plan, it takes skill and training. Financial seminars, courses and industry rule changes are a few examples of how we remain committed to knowledge and growth. This is why we have built a power house team of specialists.

Having his lovely wife and 2 incredible children allow him to practice these values daily.  Mumin has been a  CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) and a Registered Retirement Consultant® (RRC®) for over 16 years and continues to run a successful financial practice. 

His “Client First” philosophy has allowed him to be a foundational partner for his clients. He provides a holistic approach to planning, managing, and protecting wealth on an ongoing basis. His commitment to knowledge coupled with years of experience allow him to design customized and strategic financial plans. He specializes in helping individuals who are already retired or approaching retirement. This has allowed him to tailor his service and expertise in the unique needs of retirees. In his spare time, Mumin enjoys spending time with his family, playing hockey and golf.

  Cody’s sights were set on finance when he was introduced to the boardgame Monopoly; ‘Banker’ was his fist job title. He had a good understanding of numbers, and the picture they can paint. While earning his Honours Degree in Business Administration (with a focus on Finance), Cody immersed himself in the Financial Services workforce and began his real-life experience. Cody has been in the Financial Service industry for over 8 years, and has earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and his Registered Retirement Consultant® (RRC®)  designations. Cody is passionate about a wholistic approach when it comes to financial advice. Not only is he passionate about helping clients in their financial journey, but he also believes in giving back to the community. After participating in several local community out-reach programs, Big Brothers Big Sisters really struck a chord with Cody. Cody has been a mentor and proud Big Brother to Leo for the past several years. The duo are even Ambassadors for our local chapter! They meet on a weekly basis and spend time doing a few of their favourite things; hiking, playing board games and cooking. As Cody says “it gives me some practice for when I am lucky enough to have my own kids!” Cody’s passion for helping others in the community aligns perfectly with our philosophy and is a welcomed addition to the team.

   Through her commitment to learning and adapting, Sabrina has become an integral part of the team by balancing her marketing & administrative expertise with her growing role in supporting our CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) team. With a solid foundation in financial administration, Sabrina has taken on a more active role behind the scenes, streamlining operations and directly contributing to the development and implementation of comprehensive financial plans.

Her attention to detail and dedication ensure that our clients receive the highest quality service as she works closely with the CFP® team to bring tailored financial solutions to life.

In addition to her planning duties, Sabrina continues to contribute to the marketing efforts of the firm, assisting in the development of client-facing materials and strategies that effectively communicate our services and values. Her ability to seamlessly blend her organizational and marketing skills enables her to provide multifaceted support that enhances both internal processes and client engagement.

Outside of work, Sabrina enjoys bike riding, reading, gardening and spending time with her husband and their 2 young children Aliya & Jacob.

Kristin is a Brock University graduate, a loving mother of two young children, a devout wife and a part-time fitness instructor! She has always had an affinity for helping others whether that be in their personal wealth journey or personal health journey. 

Kristin is a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with over 20 years of experience in supporting executives and teams to achieve optimal efficiency and success. Known for her exceptional multitasking skills and proactive approach, she thrives in dynamic environments and is always ready to handle a variety of administrative tasks with precision and professionalism.

Her strong communication abilities enable her to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and external partners, ensuring smooth and productive interactions. Whether managing schedules, coordinating meetings, preparing reports, or overseeing office operations, Kristin consistently ensures that everything runs seamlessly behind the scenes.

Outside of work, Kristin enjoys staying active, reading and spending time with her family.

Serving our community

  At Basic Financial Services, we are advocates in helping people build their future their way. Unfortunately, some people just don’t have much input in their future. That’s why we believe in serving our community by donating a portion of our profits to Autism Ontario (Niagara Chapter). Autism Ontario (Niagara Chapter) is one organization that we feel particularly connected to. Aside from enhancing awareness about autism in our community, the Niagara Chapter works diligently in holding various fundraising events, runs programs and events for individuals with ASD and their families to get involved, socialize and network. Their hard work helps create a better future for those with Autism and their families. Our clients feel we make an impact in their futures, so why not make an impact on the futures of those with specials needs?
